I’ve grown to love this game

    Posted: 03 Feb 2021 06:55 PM PST

No spoilers please because I'm currently playing Episode 3 right now, but after quitting this game a year ago after playing for an hour, I gotta say that I love this game now. Today is actually my birthday and the way the game went out of its way to celebrate it in multiple ways really made me happy. The thought of seeing others use my roads and imagining them using it to make their trips easier as I see them give me likes on the left is a great feeling. Most of all, though, during a time of great stress, nothing feels better than slowing down and hiking through beautiful areas, feeling like a badass taking down MULEs and BTs, and slowly becoming a better porter as I get new equipment. I'm really excited to see where this game goes and I'm so glad I picked it back up

This game is a puzzle game and it’s way better for it

    Posted: 03 Feb 2021 09:12 PM PST

I feel like Kojima's description of Death Stranding as a "strand" game undersells the game's achievements as a puzzle game. For every delivery, you have to consider every item you take and that has a domino effect on your route. Every step is a decision with potential consequences and you have to determine which path to take to your destination, as well as what to do on your way there. This is really impressive from a design standpoint and if he insists on calling it a "strand" game, then I think that should be defined as a sub genre of puzzlers.

Second playthrough for the win. I always say the second time you play Death Stranding is the only time you'll truly begin to appreciate what an amazing game it is. At least for me it was like that.

Not Sure if This is Impressive, but Here's a Zipline Network I've Been Connecting So Far. I'm New to The Game, and It Was So Satisfying Putting This Together.

Logistics type question for after the ending.

If the Death Stranding started after Sam was 'born', and Sam is around 50 years old, were there already underground cities? If so, why? If not, and not to question human ingenuity when pushing extinction, but how would cities that big be built so fast and with technology (force fields) to stop rain fall and BT presence?

500 LoL’ers: How did you keep up the motivation to complete all the deliveries?

    Posted: 03 Feb 2021 01:36 PM PST

Hi! This has been my favorite game of all time so J wanted to do something special and try my first platinum and as the "unwritten completion criteria" do all 500 Deliveries on LoL. Problem is after 260 hours of play through and having attained almost all story related stuff and side content like chips, the only gameplay loop left is delivering while being very careful over and over. Are there any more story interviews or lore stuff if you keep delivering or did the game include them only for scripted campaign moments and as rewards up until you 5 star each prepper? If there's nothing more, what kept you pushing up to that point? Thanks porters!

    Finished Death Stranding

    Posted: 03 Feb 2021 09:05 AM PST

Finished Death Stranding, my favourite after a long..long time... The last time I was so satisfied by completing a game was in 2003, after completing 'Fahrenheit' from Atari. Want to replay this game again... n again...

    Kudos Hideo Kojima...

    The Future of Death Stranding

    Posted: 03 Feb 2021 06:58 AM PST

So apologies, I imagine threads like this one are somewhat common but I've really been wanting to engage this fanbase about what they think the future holds for Death Stranding.

Since release late 2019 the game has received some minimal updates from the Steam launch content as well as the Cyberpunk 2077 stuff, but no real major DLC has been released or confirmed. Nicolas Winding Refn teased that he will return as Heartman in some capacity, but a year later we've heard nothing. That combined with the rumors that Kojima's next game will be in the horror genre, à la Silent Hills, casts a lot of doubt in my mind that we will see significant support for Death Stranding, or a sequel in immediate development.

I genuinely love this world and the undeniably unique gameplay experience it provides, so it sucks to think it will be left as is for the time being. I've heard rumors that DS didn't exactly sell as well as Sony wanted, which could explain why Kojima would be putting its future on the back burner for now.

What do you guys think? Will we see a return to Death Stranding anytime soon? And most importantly, what would you like to see in terms of content in a potential expansion or sequel?

I know its narrative is wrapped up tightly, but I cannot be the only one who feels like this bizarre world and sandbox are full of untapped potential. I would love to have more features that allow you to work towards harnessing the unforgiving expanse.
