I AM NOT THE ONE IN THIS WORLD

One of my recent art pieces. It's my absolute favourite boss. It was so fascinating fighting against it.

I'm still on my first playthrough, but I did catch sight of u/RearAdmiralVites revelation. After seeing it, I've been checking every base and each marking seems unique.

    Nerdpost: real world ideas

    Posted: 01 Jun 2020 09:07 PM PDT

Does this game get anyone else thinking about real world implementations?

-Like an app for porter pony express style deliveries/tasks

-everything libraries like the distribution centers where you can drop off things you don't need and take what you do/ use raw materials and a maker space to craft new stuff

-big open source digital libraries (of course they exist to an extent)

-the overall ad hoc solidarity and team work from the characters to face the death stranding (climate change)

-the system of likes and trust instead of currency

Anyways- if it all falls apart I'm gonna be setting up little lending libraries and doing my bit- might just tag them with the bridges logo...guess I'm asking if I'm the only one nerding out on the idea (been playing too much lately chasing platinum).

So- look forward to any responses- keep on keeping on.

    [EPISODE 5] Cord-cutting Guide

    Posted: 01 Jun 2020 03:40 PM PDT

It took me an embarrassingly long time to figure out how to consistently sneak up on BTs. So here's a step by step when you have BB and when you don't.

    With BB:

    • Odradek aimed at a direction but not flapping: normal movement (you can even run)

    • Odradek starts flapping: slow down, crouch and walk toward BT

    • Odradek flapping rapidly: hold breath, continue crouch walking toward BT

    • Odradek spinning: continue holding breath and move in same direction until you get the prompt to cut the cord (you will definitely be detected if you stop holding your breath)

    • After cord-cutting animation: check for another cord-cutting prompt

    • Note: your breath gauge will refill completely when you cut a BT cord, you can also collect crystals without alerting BTs (afaik)

Without BB (this requires a bit of luck/patience):

    • Wear headphones to better determine BT location

    • Watch for the slowdown when you reach the BT zone within the timefall

    • Stop completely if you need to catch your breath/determine the location of BTs from sound

    • Higher-pitched "wail": crouch and walk

    • Lower-pitched "groan/roar": hold breath, search for cord-cutting prompt (if you're not confident about where the BT is, there's a chance it'll come to you if you let go of R1 for a second)

    • Alternatively, just walk directly toward where you need to go. If the BT appears to your side, hold your breath and keep going straight and circle back to cut the cord after it stops searching. If the BT appears in front of you, hold your breath and go back the way you came.

The game seems to be more forgiving when you don't have BB with you. I've gotten the cord-cutting prompt a few times without ever holding my breath.

Remember to crouch! If you are standing, BTs will chase you even if you're holding your breath. (Found this out when I got a little bit over-confident while BT hunting.) Also, giant BTs and boss BTs can't be killed this way.

[Endgame] Keep On Keeping On, And Go For Platinum

    Posted: 01 Jun 2020 02:28 PM PDT

Short story time, I picked up this game when it first came out and like many others stopped playing around Episode 3 as I lost focus and started making deliveries on foot and getting trapped by BTs not knowing what to do. I was drawn into the world and loved the tone and ominous solitude, but almost instantly fell out of it during Episode 3 for lack of progressing through the story. I'm not sure what got me back into it, but I mustered my efforts into completing Episode 3 a few weeks ago and what felt like a titanic task getting Platinum for this game became an obsession.

I'm not new to getting Platinum trophies, but the fact that I put this game down and didn't play it for months and ended up getting Platinum feels amazing, and I'd encourage anyone who plays this game to go for it too. This game is incredibly special in such a novel and weird way, and I'm so glad I didn't give up on it.

Personally, getting Platinum in this game was so rewarding and satisfying because all the trophies aren't tied to any multiplayer aspect. Sure, getting help from your fellow porters' structures (*cough* ziplines *cough*) is VERY nice and makes things A LOT easier, but the fact that the trophies are standalone and rely only on you playing the game yourself is pretty great IMO. Oh, and shoutout to P*werP*x and them YT guides.

TL;DR - After giving up and coming back, playing hundreds of hours, becoming a MULE, making chiral connections, being mind#$%@ed, roaming the ominously beautiful world of Death Stranding in solitude, and becoming a Legend of Legends, I'm now part of the Platinum club. If you're discouraged from getting Platinum, don't be.

Keep on making connections and Bridges. Stay safe y'all, and keep on keeping on.

    [Spoiler] BB plot hole?

    Posted: 01 Jun 2020 10:58 PM PDT

Diehardman says plugging into BBs can cause you to see their memories right? So then how does Lou have Sam's memories?

Kinda random question, but is this land from E3 2018 actually in the final game?

A question from the end game that’s killing me (Chapter 13)

    Posted: 01 Jun 2020 10:37 AM PDT

So after the ending and everything I was still left with one question that's been bugging me for months. If Amalie is controlling Higgs then why does Higgs constantly keep attacking people? It makes sense that she needs Higgs to keep Sam moving along to connect the network but why is he so insistent on killing Sam and causing voidouts?
