I just finished my first play through of this game and I felt so many emotions at the final 4 hours, from the battle with Higgs to the beach with Amelie and especially in the facility with cliff, every tiny part of the game and story is thought out and executed to perfection for an extremely intriguing story that anyone could get invested in, Kojima has well and truly created a masterpiece.

Where are Peter Englert's private quarters? (Chapter 9-10 spoilers)

    Posted: 17 Jun 2020 03:43 PM PDT

Said Peter in the title but I mean Higgs. I got the email titled "Do you wish to know my secrets?" talking about how I threw his package in the tar, and its signed Higgs.

Currently I'm hiking across the whole damn map after the Higgs fight, so I want to stop off and check this out on my way if I can.

edit: nvm, im blind. its near lake knot city on the map. keeping this up for anyone else who is also blind!

So I had to make the trek back EAST... but did it in 20 mins

    Posted: 17 Jun 2020 01:32 PM PDT

Won't spoil anything but thankfully someone left a trike where I started and found power stations across the country, and only encountered one BT (which I ran away) -- the whole process only took me 20 mins.

When I heard that I had to head back I was like "You've got to be fucking kidding me, this will take forever" -- but thanks to a player who left their bike, you literally saved me from throwing this game out my patio window.

Shoutout to the player who left the trike, you're the real MVP.

Seems a couple people liked my sequel/spiritual successor idea, so i figured i'd give a write up of my idea for discussions sake

    Posted: 17 Jun 2020 06:49 PM PDT

So first off, i don't see a sequel as being likely to begin with, so this is more just ideas and discussion for discussion sake over where the future of this world would go. Second, alot of this originally came to me in a dream after binging through the game for a few days on end, and i've just been building off it in my mind ever since, so it's kinda nice to finally have it written out. So here we go:

Rather than a straight up sequel, i'd say Sam's story is at a great stopping point. And although i'd love to see more of deadman and gang, going further into the future has alot of freedom to it. So instead of America, lets move the story into the future a few hundred years or so, with humanity settling onto a new world to escape the death stranding and the constraints of the beach. Rather than the timefall and the roving threat of BTs and terrorists, the natural environment and native animals and terrain would be the major obstacles of this game, with a more combat focus incorporating enemy settlements and factions to oppose the player.

For the world itself, the freedom from timefall gives more freedom to technology. Drones, more vehicles and standing settlements all mixed in with the open foreign world. Rather than a UCA, we have independent settlements full of unique people and cultures, with our player being the resident of one such settlement. The base idea for this is taking MGSV's mother base and running with it, as well as modernizing an old arcade game thanks to its' familiar name

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M.U.L.E.

You go out into this world gathering resources, making deliveries and supplying trade routes with other settlements, dealing with hostile settlers and recruiting new characters and colonists to your home. A disease or earth quake at another settlement means either giving aid to them or using it to keep your own people safe and Happy, effecting your standing with the settlements. Rather than the shady as hell BB program, our new companion is a flying/multi terrain drone, with this civilization having to balance AI and robotics with humanity and human workers. This drone would have personality, be customizable, and be able to either assist in combat or utilized as a pack mule.

But wait you say, how do you have a death stranding successor without the time fall and BTs? Well simple, you pull a kojima and make it deeper. Make our character more emotional and relatable. Perhaps you avoid a tragic backstory altogether and just work off the future of the chiral network. Machines and society are still connected over the network and therefore the beach, meaning that everyone is still connected to the other side. When we travel to the other side, or deal with anomalies where the other side bleeds over, we find a beach molded by the experiences of the settlers of this world, like the war beaches of the original.

The collective fears of the unknown, loneliness of space and the new world, or maybe a past tragedy of the first settlers molds this beach and the threats that would come from anomalies and the beach. The beach would stand in as the manifestation of the internal conflicts and fears of the settlers, and by your actions the beach could be calmed or more turbulent as you proceed.

So in all, a game where you're building off community, us vs them, the struggles of defining human existence outside of a now lifeless earth and building a future for mankind. What do yall think of these ideas for a future game or atleast where the world of death stranding would go?
