    The music is so good

    Posted: 06 Feb 2021 10:27 AM PST

The music choice for this game is one of the best I've ever heard in any video game.

At one point you're just walking delivering a package and then the atmospheric music kicks in and you start to wonder why this game doesn't have a film adaptation yet!

For anyone on the fence on buying this game DO IT!! I was very skeptic on the game, mainly because of all the negative feedback it garnered on YouTube and all the backlash Kojima got for it. Frankly I never liked a kojima game, never got the buzz for them but this one is different.

*UPDATE* On that philosophical essay on the game, what would you prefer?

    Posted: 06 Feb 2021 07:24 PM PST

First of all, thank you so much for all your encouragement, I'm happy and frankly, quite dismayed, to tell you that I'm 25 pages into the essay, however, I'm still missing about a quarter of the info to write and I'm already past 25 minutes of what i've recorded which is less than half those pages, on top of that, finishing this first one would be only about 1 of the seven "chapters" of the topics I plan on exploring, which will go beyond the mere aspects of philosophy into literary influences, like the enermous similarities to kafkian literature, it's incredible depiction of existential philosophy and standalone achievement as a "novel" of the same genre; most of all, I plan to do an extensive character piece on the psychological dynamics and the philosophical symbolisms of every major individual, especially amelie, higgs, cliff and heartman.

This is all good and dandy but it presents a big problem and hence why i am writing this post up to ask you a question, what do you think the best format for this enormous video essays may be? In keeping with philosophical essays, they are long winded, very detailed, reiterative perhaps to redundancy and answer counter arguments nobody probably would have bothered to present. So, 45 min episodes of several parts until each chapter is finished? (as in chapter 1: part 1/2/3/4, chapter 2 part 1/2/3?). One supercut of each chapter regardless if they are over an hour long?

Would you actually like a series of videos that delve so intensely into every possible aspect that can be analyzed of this game?

And finally, any editors or porters who are proficient with video editing/directing skills who would like to partner up I would gladly have a talk about it, recording this things while keeping a voice that doesnt send you to sleep for hours at a time until the takes fit is exhausting, and I only happen to know how to effectively use my recording equipment because I used to record music with instruments and my voice, but anything beyond basic video editing is out of my level and frankly I don't know how often i will be able to publish this videos with the learning curve that the visual editing part involves.

Thank you so much porters! keep on keepong on

p.s this first video is about 60% DT and 40% MGS V since the game mechanics discussed and the symbolisms and direct motifs and consequential game and story related aspects of morality had their origin in the last game, especially the subject of moral responsibility, so I hope you like that one too cause oh boy Big Boss fans are going to be mad at the humongous dump I took on their favorite child abductor, but it's all in good sport, Im a fan of him inevitably :)

Help me rationalize playing more after the main quest ends...

    Posted: 06 Feb 2021 05:45 PM PST

For those who have finished the last story chapter and gone on to play a number of hours in the chapter 15 scenario, how did you get past the feeling that it just wasn't the same now that you know things have already ended?

I planned to go and finish up doing 5 stars on some of the preppers in areas I didn't do as much in as I wanted, but it just wasn't the same knowing the story was over.

Not sure I'm making any sense - basically I'm sad that it's done and I want to go back to before that point, but apparently you can't go home again...but I still want to enjoy the amazing game world a bit if I can figure out the right mindset.

Also - technical question about chapter 15, are you only seeing other post-ending players' structures etc? How do they balance that? E.g. there really shouldn't be zip lines in the original map area. But I can build them there now, and there's a few other folks have built.

Related to that, does anything I build/fix/do in Ch 15 help earlier players? B/c that's actually some motivation for me to get in there and enjoy that wonderful world a bit more, if I can help some young scared Sam get along a little easier.

    Thanks, and keep on trucking.

Does the story take me back to the starting area?

    Posted: 06 Feb 2021 03:19 PM PST

I'm about to head to Mountain Knot City. Since I got to this area I have spent all my time trying to 5-star each outpost, but I realise I have outposts I didn't even add to the network in the starting area, as at that point I was focused on progressing the story.

Does the story take me back to this area, or should I just head back over now? If I'm going to head east anyway for the story I'm happy just to wait until that point.

Why can’t I claim certain materials?

    Posted: 06 Feb 2021 08:34 PM PST

For example, I need special alloys to upgrade something. I went to a mule camp, got tons of special alloys, then recycled them. It says I have them in the menu, but I can't claim them. What am I doing wrong?
