    [Question] Regarding Voidouts

    So I've been playing over 100 hours+ and on Very Hard, and only died to a Catcher near the ruins north of South Knot City. Caused a mini voidout, didn't reload/revert time, and that voidout crater has been there like forever? I looked it up on the forum and other sites, says it will be gone up to 48 hours irl. But I am pretty sure it's been longer than that already, and the voidout crater doesnt show signs of recovering.

    Also Also, I've cleared out Terrorist Camps near the Mountain Knot City (they are relatively close to the incinerator, can't help but to do a favor to the world.), and they haven't been respawning since... I took out their camp like during Chapter 5, and now I'm in mid Chapt 8, along with like 30 game hours already...

    is this something exclusive to Very Hard mode or what?

    Just spent about an hour to try to hike to all the highest points on the highest mountains in the map. When I return to a safe room to rest I noticed that his fingers and toes are now completely black! I tried the shower but it's clearly not tar I'm pretty sure I gave him frostbite. What a weird Easter egg has anyone else encountered this?

    If you're in an area and you need to do some scouting but don't have a pcc you can use your odradek scan while zip lining to scan wide areas. Especially useful up in the mountainous regions. Just figured this out the other day while setting up my zip line network. Hope this helps some of my fellow porters!

    [All spoilers] What is the weakest element of the game?

    Just finished the game, after a hundred hours. I have a lot of mixed feelings about it. I am curious to hear opinions from others about what they felt was the game's weakest element.

    Just completed. Sad to see so many reviews said it was boring. At times I can see it but it was so rewarding.

    The only thing I hated was the driving it was horrendous.

    Other than that bravo

    ... she's my Mama.

    I'm talking about Målingen, even though President Strand would apply to the thread title, I guess. But even though I'm in Heartman's chapter now, I'm still thinking about Mama's chapter.

    When I started the mission to carry her to Mountain Knot, I was thinking, "Ok, travelling mission, better prepare myself for harsh terrain by bringing ladders, climbing anchors and some hematic grenades just in case the BTs appear, and I should be good. Just gotta make sure Mama gets a smooth journey there."

    Well, we all know that's not how it went. When I got control of Sam after the cutscene, I was like, "What the hell should I do? Can I run to safety?". But there's nowhere to run. I eventually killed the BT by picking up an assault rifle dropped by a player but man, Mama had lost 40% of her HP and her bodybag was soaked in her own blood.

    I just couldn't let that stand, so I reloaded. Yeah, yeah, I save scummed. It's not the score I cared about. I just couldn't continue knowing that Mama got so badly injured while under my care.

    And when I reloaded, I was like, "Fuck ladders and climbing anchors. Eat blood-laced lead, motherfucker!" And this time, being better prepared, Mama came out without a scratch. Whew!

    And for the journey to Mountain Knot, I decided against using zip-lines, as it's got to be really uncomfortable facing the ground while strapped to Sam's back and swinging and dangling while zip-lining. I put her in the passenger seat of a truck and drove till the road ended at Distribution Centre North of Mountain Knot, and then carried her the rest of the way.

    She still died in the cutscene after that anyway. But at least her last few moments were reasonably comfortable and didn't shock Lockne with the sight of her being covered in blood.

    I guess this is a really long winded way for me to say that I enjoyed this chapter a lot and got to learn more about Mama. I'm still bummed that she's gone, even though she's still not really gone.

    Been seeing Kojima's weirdness since 2016, now i finally get to play on PC for the first time ever! It's been pretty fun and.... weird.
